2005-02-19 - 3:51 p.m. I just have to ask: is being a Beatles fan reasonable grounds for divorce? OK, the Fab 4 were brilliant but he has to buy not only every cd but every badly done, grainy bootleg dvd of every performancethey ever did ...plus his favorite songs are The Long and Winding Road and While My Guitar Gently Weeps....sappy cheese whiz Beatles, not even the cool jangly Indian-influenced stuff or the edgy angry political stuff but the Elevator Music stuff. Not only that, but it gets worse. He likes Toto and Night Ranger and Journey and Bon Jovi. Our 16 month old can sing "Immigrant Song" by Led Zeppelin. Today he was blasting Olivia Newton John. I adored her in Grease but that screechy "Have You Never Been Mellow" thing...no. Please, no. And I'm sorry, but Dolly Parton wrote Jolene and manages to sing it without making my teeth hurt.
